CHHS Band and Choir Concert
The fall Columbia Heights High School (CHHS) band and choir concert will be held Monday, Nov. 20 in the Performing Arts Center, 1440 49th Ave. NE, Columbia Heights. The concert is free and open to the public.
The CHHS band program, under the direction of Lisa Walls, performance begins at 7 p.m. The program includes the concert and two symphonic bands. Musical themes include modern, classical and folk. Band selections include “O Cool is the Valley” by Vincent Persichetti, “Earthdance” by Michael Sweeney and “Symphonic Portrait for Band” by Rachmaninoff.
The CHHS choral program, under the direction of James Borsky, performs starting at 8:15 p.m. The program includes the concert, Hylander, Dynamix and (Cantabile) choirs. Musical themes include jazz, pop, classical and folk. Selections include “Goodnight, It’s Time to Go" by the Platters, “Home” by Phillip Phillips and “More I Cannot Wish You” from the Gershwin musical Guys and Dolls.
