Today, Friday, September 10, 2021 at around 11:15 am, a student called the Columbia Heights Police Department with a thirdhand report of a potential threat at Columbia Heights High School (CHHS). Within a minute the CHHS School Resource Officer placed the CHHS school and campus on lockdown, per protocol for further investigation. In a combined effort, the Columbia Heights Police Department and the CHHS administrative team investigated the alleged report.
All students were safe and with their teachers in classrooms and in the lunchroom. The students were held from passing periods briefly. The top priority of Columbia Heights Public Schools is to keep students and staff safe. The Columbia Heights Police Department has determined that there is no credible threat to the students or community and the Columbia Heights High School has returned to normal activity.
No additional information will be released at this time pending the completion of the active investigation.
