We have just learned of the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial and recognize the strong emotions this may bring up in students, families and staff.
Columbia Heights Public Schools provides a safe and supportive learning community for our students. The District will provide on-site instruction as well as Heights from Home distance learning the remainder of the week. If your child is scheduled for in-person learning and you plan to keep them home Wednesday, Thursday and/or Friday (April 21-23), please call your school’s attendance line. In order to be counted present for attendance, students must log on and connect with school. All MCA testing will be postponed until further notice.
Whether at school or in Heights from Home, the Student Support Team is available as needed. We understand how much this trial has impacted the lives of our students, families and staff.
