Activities & Athletics

  • Welcome to the Columbia Heights Public Schools Activities and Athletics website. Within this site, you will find information on activities offered including the arts and clubs, as well as schedules, forms, fees and seasonal sports camps.

Given the unprecedented times, new safety practices are being implemented to ensure the safety of athletes, coaches and potential spectators.

    Volleyball and Winter Sports Update

In compliance with Governor Walz’s Emergency Order 20-99, all organized youth sports are on pause from 11:59 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, until 11:59 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18. This applies to all winter sports, as well as volleyball. While we may be able to meet virtually, there will be no in person meetings/practices/competitions during this time.

We will keep our student athletes and activities participants as engaged as possible. More information to come. We plan to return to play for winter sports when guidance allows and restrictions are lifted.

Sports Physical Requirement

  • Every athlete must have a sports physical on file with the Activities Office. Sports physicals are typically valid for three years. This year, any student whose sports physical set to expire between March 12, 2020 and the end of the 2020-2021 school year will now be valid through the 2020-2021 school year. All incoming students and students participating in athletics for the first time will need to submit a valid sports physical to the Activities Office.
