Goal Area 1

Goal Area 1: All students ready for kindergarten

Students enrolled in PreK 3 and PreK 4 will show growth in all assessed areas as measured by TS GOLD assessments given in the Fall of 2023 and Spring of 2024.

  • PreK 3 and PreK 4 teachers met weekly for PLCs to discuss data and inform instruction
  • PreK 3 and PreK 4 teachers met during data days to dive deeper into the TS GOLD assessment results to support student outcomes

Goal Area 2

Goal Area 2: Close the achievement gap among all groups

The achievement gap in Columbia Heights Public Schools will decrease by 5% from the Spring 2023 to the Spring 2024 school year as measured by the FastBridge Reading Proficiency in grades K-10. (exclude EL Levels 1 & 2).

Goal Area 3: All students attaining career and college readiness before graduating from high school

Increase the number of students in grades 10-12 taking college level courses (AP, Early College, PSEO) and career courses (CTE) by 5% from 2022-2023 to 2023-2024.

Goal Area 4

Goal Area 4: All students graduating from high school

Maintain or increase the graduation rate from 2022-2023 to 2023-2024, for every race/ethnicity.

  • Professional Development around instruction and culturally relevant instruction

Results from 2023-2024: The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) has not yet released the 2024 Graduation Rates. The graduation rate for Columbia Heights High School in 2023 was 92.1%, which is an increase from the 2022 graduation rate of 90.9%. The overall graduation rate for Minnesota in 2023 was 83.3%. 

The District will post the 2024 results online when they are released by MDE in March 2025.

Achievement and Integration

Goal Area 1

Goal 1: Increase the college and career readiness for Hispanic students from 42% participating in early college classes to 51% participating in 2026 in order to match overall high school demographics.

Results and Response: Goal met. 63% of Hispanic students participated in college and career readiness classes.

Goal Area 2

Goal 2: To maintain CHPS students' access to teachers trained in culturally relevant and effective instruction at 100% for three years by strengthening equity teams, participation in PD.

​​​​​​​Results and Response: Goal met. 100% of All Licensed teachers participated in culturally relevant training and effective instructions.

Goal Area 3

Goal 3: Increase the number of students participating in integrated learning environments for both Columbia Heights Public Schools and St. Anthony New Brighton Public Schools as measured by participation in summer programming.
