Sustainability Curriculum
Sustainability lessons are taught by teachers to Hylander students throughout their time in Columbia Heights Public Schools. Examples of these lessons include:
- An elementary lesson about Solar Power taught by the North Park School for Innovation STEM teacher.
- A middle school lesson about Renewable Energy taught by a Columbia Academy Engineering teacher.
- A high school lesson about Environmental Science and Solar vs. Gas taught by a Columbia Heights High School Science teacher.

Modules within Project Lead the Way (PLTW) from PreK to High School include learning about solar energy:
- Elementary: Sunlight and Weather (Kindergarten) and Energy Explorations (5th Grade)
- Middle School: Green Architecture class
- High School: within Engineering classes
Blooming Heights

- Students have the opportunity to learn about solar energy from the CHPS Agriculture Specialist in Blooming Heights.
Solar Curriculum

- Columbia Heights Public Schools will be incorporating lessons from Ideal Energies to "develop understanding of solar energy, careers, teamwork, design and real-world issues."
