Welcome to the Columbia Heights Health Services Department! Health services has the responsibility to promote student health and wellness by:
- Promoting a safe and healthy school environment
- Identifying health related barriers to education
- Managing chronic health conditions
- Providing annual screenings
- Planning for medical emergencies
- Preventing the spread of communicable diseases
- Assessing and treating student illnesses and injuries
- Administering medication when needed
- Maintaining student health records
- Ensuring immunization records meet compliance standards
- Developing individual health plans for students with significant health concerns
- Implementing health related servies on individual education plans, as requested by Special Education Dept.
Please keep your child home if they have any of the following:
- Vomiting within the last 24 hours
- Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
- Fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher in the last 24 hours
- Rash of unknown origin
- Yellow or green drainage from the eye
Students may not return to school until they are free from the above symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, fever) for 24 hours without fever reducing medications. Call attendance line every day your child is staying home and state the child's teacher, grade, and specific reason for their absence.
