Q & A

The World's Best Workforce (WBWF) was developed in 2013 (Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.11) to ensure that school districts and charter schools in Minnesota enhance student achievement through teaching and learning support addressing the following five WBWF goals:

  • All children are ready for school.
  • All third-graders can read at grade level.
  • All racial and economic achievement gaps between students are closed.
  • All students are ready for career and college.
  • All students graduate from high school.

Each year, Columbia Heights Public Schools publishes a report sharing progress on the five WBWF goals. Three of the goals this year used the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) for measurement. The validity and reliability of the MCAs was impacted due to the low participation rate of the tests.

Local and district assessments have provided students, families, and educators with data to support enhancing instruction and measuring progress.  These assessments include FastBridge, formative assessments, PSAT, and SAT.
