College & Career Readiness

  • Pathway and Life Skills
Pathways articulates the benchmarks our school district is using to create college and career ready graduates.

AVID (Advanced via Individual Determination) is a K-12 college-readiness system. The mission of AVID is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

The purpose of the Fridley-Columbia Heights STRIVE program is to motivate eligible CHPS seniors to discover their own strengths and talents in order to increase their potential and academic achievement.

    Ramp Up to Readiness
Our schools use the University of Minnesota's Ramp Up to Readiness program in advisory. Students meet in small groups with staff members throughout the school year to cover topics like school success today, goal setting, career interested, college possibilities, building a resume and keeping on top of grades now.

The Heighten the Arts committee works to create, implement and sustain a life-altering education program for the CHPS community.

    Power of You
The "Power of You" program covers the cost of tuition and fees for two years or up to 72 credits.
