Reports from Members of the Board
Chair Naty Severson attended softball sectional games, a School Board Chair meeting, and had conversations with community members.
Vice Chair Lorien Mueller attended a School Board Chair meeting and the synchronized swimming state meet. She also participated in the first-round interviews for the Columbia Heights High School (CHHS) principal position, a Columbia Heights Business Council meeting, and had conversations with community members.
Clerk Laura Palmer attended a Metro 916 Board meeting, the 916 Foundation meeting and had a conversation with Member Asamarai.
Treasurer Hala Asamarai attended two School Board trainings and had a conversation with Member Palmer.
Director Mary Granlund attended the Valley View Fun Run, had a conversation with U.S. Representative Omar and had conversations with families, students and staff.
Director Molly Lewis attended middle and high school track meets and the virtual CA 8th grade graduation.
Superintendent Zena Stenvik attended the Tri-Metro Governing Board meeting and shared that Fridley will be the host of the meeting and said the participant fees for next year will be reduced for all member districts and charter schools. She had a check in meeting with City of Columbia Heights Mayor and City Manager. The Superintendent gave a reminder about this week's second COVID-19 vaccine clinic which will take pace 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at the Hylander Center. This clinic will serve eligible students and community members who would like to receive their first or second dose of the vaccine. Stenvik also shared that the CHHS class of 2021 graduation will be held Thursday evening on the football field. Supt. Stenvik had conversations with chair Severson and email exchanges with Member Granlund.
