    The School Board honored Columbia Academy students Danchau Le and Daphne Kleinschmit who placed first in the Minnesota State History Day Competition, qualifying them for nationals. View the press release.

    Reports from Members of the Board

    Chair Naty Severson attended a School Board Chair meeting and some boys tennis and softball games. She also attended an Association of Metropolitan School Board meeting, the virtual career celebration and the District's community update via Zoom. She also had conversations with Superintendent Stenvik and had conversations with community members.

    Vice Chair Lorien Mueller completed the phase 4 of the Minnesota School Board Association training. She attended a School Board Chair meeting, some synchronized swimming meets virtually and some baseball games. Mueller also had a conversation with Superintendent Stenvik and had many conversations with parents and community members.

    Clerk Laura Palmer attended a Northeast Metro 916 Board meeting and a Northeast Metro 916 Foundation Board Meeting.

    Treasurer Hala Asamarai attended May 11 Virtual Community Engagement Session.

    Director Mary Granlund participated in Valley View's BINGO event. She also spoke with parents and students regarding upcoming changes in the District including program updates.

    Director Molly Lewis attended some track meets, and had informal conversations with administrators, board members and parents.

    Superintendent's Report
    Superintendent Zena Stenvik shared the District hosted a community update on instructional programs for the 2021-2022 school year via zoom which was well attended. She's also been able to participated in three Spanish-speaking parent meetings hosted by the District's homeschool liaison. She announced that registration for summer ENCORE is open which provides enrichment opportunities outside the school day. The District Finance Committee met and gave input on the federal COVID-relief funding. The World's Best Workforce committee will also meet soon and provide input from the community on the use of those funds. Superintendent Stenvik met with two varsity coaches about our athletic programs and attended an American Indian Education Parent Advisory Committee meeting. She reminding everyone about the upcoming Pow Wow to be held Noon-5 p.m. Saturday, May 22 outside at the high school's Dick Borchardt Football Field -- registration is required. She also had conversations with Chair Severson and Vice Chair Mueller. 


    Mini Adventures and Adventure Club Fees
    Community Education & Communications Director Kristen Stuenkel presented information on the fees for the District's two child care programs. View the presentation.

    Districtwide Radon Testing Results
    Director of Finance & Operations Bryan Hennekens and Operations Manager Alex Winn presented the results of the Districtwide radon testing.
