    Discussion, Reports and Information Items

    Reports from Members of the Board

    Chair Naty Severson attended the Oct. 20 Work Session and two School Board Chair Meetings. She also attended the Phase 4 Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA) training and attended a MSBA new superintendent meeting with Superintendent Stenvik.

    Vice Chair Lorien Mueller attended the Oct. 20 Work Session and two School Board Chair Meetings. She watched the Columbia Heights High School (CHHS) Swim Section Meet via live stream, participated in the CHHS parent meeting and had conversations with community members.

    Clerk Molly Lewis attended the Oct. 20 Work Session, attended football and volleyball games, and had several conversations with parents.

    Treasurer Laura Palmer attended the Oct. 20 Work Session, the Phase 4 MSBA training and a monthly Zoom meeting with the MSBA Director.

    Director Hala Asamarai attended the Oct. 20 Work Session and had conversations with constituents.

    Director John Larkin attended the Oct. 20 Work Session and had conversations with parents.

    Superintendent's Report
    Superintendent Zena Stenvik attended multiple meetings with other area superintendent and health officials regarding guidelines and outlook based on increasing case rates of COVID-19. She shared that the District remains on course for the learning model.
    She also continues to meet with District Activities & Athletics staff regarding specifics around sports and activities for students. Superintendent Stenvik attended the MSBA new superintendent meeting, an American Indian Parent Advisory Committee meeting, a District Finance Committee meeting. She also attended the JV and Varsity volleyball games.

    Learning Model
    Superintendent Zena Stenvik and Director of Teaching & Learning Tara Thukral 
    presented information on current local COVID case rates and recent survey data from students, families and staff regarding the Learning Model for quarter 2.

    Action Items

    Authorization of Bid Publication | High School Roof Replacement
    The Board approved the authorization of publication of bids for High School Roof Replacement.
