    City of Columbia Heights Council Member Connie Buesgens gave a brief update to the Board about the new building on 40th and Central Avenue where the first floor will serve as the new City Hall.

    Chair Naty Severson attended various District sporting events, a School Board Chair meeting and an Association of Metropolitan School Districts (AMSD) meeting.

    Vice Chair Lorien Mueller attended a swim meet and a School Board Chair meeting.

    Clerk Molly Lewis watched some athletics events via live stream.

    Treasurer Laura Palmer attended the monthly Metro 916 Board meeting.

    Director Hala Asamarai attended a Columbia Heights High School parent meeting and had a phone meeting with Superintendent Stenvik.

    Superintendent's Report
    Superintendent Zena Stenvik shared the District continues to monitor the COVID-19 case rates in -- which remain high. The District's Administrative Team, including principals and directors, meets weekly to collaborate and review ongoing and ever-changing plans regarding COVID-19. The Superintendent continues to meet weekly with 40 superintendents across the metro area on the topic of COVID-19 through AMSD. Stenvik attended the Minnesota School Board Association Phase 3 Training on High-Performing School Board Team. The Superintendent shared how exciting it's been to welcome select groups of students back on campus. She also encouraged families, students and staff to fill out the respective surveys sent to them last week which will help guide planning for quarter two. Superintendent Stenvik also attended a School Board Chair meeting, the School Board Candidate Forum and had a conversation with Director Asamarai.

    Tenured Teacher Recognition
    Director of Human Resources Lindsey Bennett shared a video with the Board recognizing the 15 licensed staff members newly tenured in the District (as of July 1, 2020).
