    Superintendent's Report
    Superintendent Kathy L. Kelly shared how busy the District has been preparing for distance learning to begin Monday, March 30 should Governor Walz make that announcement. CHPS has implemented childcare for children of emergency and healthcare care workers as mandated by the Governor. Meal distribution to sites around the community began Wednesday, March 18 by food service and bus drivers. The CHPS Communications Department has created a COVID-19 section of the District website with resources for families to stay informed. The Superintendent wished thanks to all involved with these efforts and to the School Board members who have stayed in touch.

    Curriculum and Instruction - Focus on Arts Standards
    Director of Teaching & Learning Tara Thukral and Art Teach Hannah Starke presented information on the new Minnesota Arts Standard. Minnesota Department of Education and Perpich Center partnered in supporting districts with implementation of the standards. Starke was a part of the Master Teachers committee to support this effort. Information about the timeline for implementation, key changes to the standards, and professional development for staff was presented.

    Annual Capital Project Levy Update
    Director of Technology, Security and Building Operations Bryan Hennekens and Director of Finance & Operations Denise Sundstrom presented information on the District's continued work on Capital Projects funded through the 2014 approved Capital Projects Levy. The presentation included the projects completed or in progress for fiscal year 2019-2020 and the projected projects for 2020-2021.

    Construction Projects Update
    Director of Technology, Security and Building Operations Bryan Hennekens presented an update on the 2018 Bond Referendum construction projects. The presentation will be a general status overview of: The Band Room Addition, The Performing Arts Space Improvements, and North Park Elementary School Additions and Improvements.

    Sustainable Initiative
    Superintendent Kathy L. Kelly and Director of Technology, Security and Building Operations Bryan Hennekens presented information regarding the Columbia Heights Public Schools Sustainability Initiative. The presentation provided a general overview of the initiative and opportunities that District administration is exploring for implementation at North Park Elementary.

    The Board approved the Communications Audit and Plan.

    The Board approved the formation of the School Board Sub-committee on Community Engagement.
