    Reports from Members of the Board

    Chair John Larkin attended an Ad-Hoc Sub-Committee on Community Engagement meeting, the CHPS Career Celebration and a School Board Chair meeting. He also attendend the high school band concert, the CHHS production of "Beauty & the Beast," prom grand march, a community prayer breakfast and the community Pow Wow.

    Vice Chair Naty Severson attended an Ad-Hoc Sub-Committee on Community Engagement meeting, the CHPS Career Celebration, baseball and softball games and prom grand march. She also attended a community prayer breakfast, the History Day competition, and a School Board Chair meeting.

    Treasurer Lorien Mueller attended an Ad-Hoc Sub-Committee on Community Engagement meeting, the CHPS Career Celebration, the CHHS band concert, a synchornized swimming meet, CA and CHHS baseball games and the CHHS production of "Beauty & the Beast." She also attended a City of Columbia Heights City Council meeting, high school conferences and prom grand march.

    Clerk Laura Palmer attended an Ad-Hoc Sub-Committee on Community Engagement meeting, the CHPS Career Celebration and the CHHS production of "Beauty & the Beast."

    Director Hala Asamarai attended an Ad-Hoc Sub-Committee on Community Engagement meeting, the CHPS Career Celebration, the CHHS production of "Beauty & the Beast," high school conferences and had conversations with community members and Superintendent Kelly.

    Director Molly Lewis participated in the April 16 School Board Work Session, attended an Ad-Hoc Sub-Committee on Community Engagement meeting, the CHPS Career Celebration, the CHHS production of "Beauty & the Beast," a high school track meet and the CA Academic Awards. 


    Superintendent's Report

    Superintendent Kathy Kelly participated in North Park and high school construction meetings and coffee/conversation with City of Columbia Heights City Manager and Columbia Heights Police Chief. She attended the CHPS Career Celebration, an AMSD Board Meeting, the CHHS production of "Beauty & the Beast," the high school band concert, the CA choir concert, prom grand march, and North Park's band and choir concert. The Superintendent also attended the community Pow Wow, a School Board Chair Meeting, an Ad-Hoc Sub-Committee on Community Engagement meeting, and had conversations with School Board members.

    Executive Director of Education Services Zena Stenvik, Columbia Heights High School (CHHS) Principal Dan Wrobleski, Columbia Academy Principal Duane Berkas, Highland Principal Michele DeWitt and North Park Principal Jeff Cacek presented information on the Climate Survey. View the presentation.

    Director of Community Education & Communication Kristen Stuenkel, CHHS Principal Dan Wrobleski and high school students presented a follow-up on the New York City Study Seminar.

    The School Board approved the Discontinuance or Reduction of Positions for 2019-2020 Resolution.

    Termination of Probationary Teacher Contracts Resolution
    The School Board approved the adoption of a resolution listing teachers whose contracts will not be renewed for the coming school year.

    Termination of Positions Resolution
    The School Board approved the adoption of a resolution to terminate certain positions for the coming school year.
