Reports from Members of the Board
Chair John Larkin attended all three 2018 Bond Referendum informational forum & tour events. He also attended a School Board Chair meeting, a Sub-Committee on Policy meeting, and had conversations with community members.
Vice Chair Naty Severson participated in homecoming festivities, specifically the pre-game tailgating and the game itself. She also attended a School Board Chair meeting and a Sub-Committee on Policy meeting.
Treasurer Lorien Mueller did not report out.
Clerk Hala Asamarai attended the 2018 School Board candidate forum hosed by Local 710 and a Sub-Committee on Policy meeting.
Director Molly Lewis attended homecoming coronation, football game and fireworks. She also attended an adapted soccer game, JV football games, and the 2018 School Board candidate forum hosed by Local 710. Lewis also met with Superintendent Kathy Kelly and had conversations with community members.
Director Laura Palmer attended a 916 Board meeting and a Sub-Committee on Policy meeting. Palmer also had conversations with community members.
Superintendent Kathy Kelly was involved in multiple 2018 Bond Referendum informational forum & tour events. She attended homecoming activities including the Columbia Heights Boosters Hall of Fall induction dinner, coronation and pep fest, game and fireworks. Superintendent Kelly thanked CHHS Teacher Erin Edwardson-Stern for writing the grant that allowed CHHS 11th-grade students to study the Broadway production "Hamilton" and meet with/attend the show at the Orpheum Theater. She attended the Minnesota Community Education Association's annual conference, where Director of Community Ed & Communications Kristen Stuenkel received an award. Superintendent attend an AMSD Board of Director's meeting, a North Suburban Post-Secondary Success Consortium meeting, an E12 Administrative Team meeting and attended a swim meet. She also had a meeting with Metro ECSU Executive Director Julie Frame, attended a School Board Chair meeting, a Sub-Committee on Policy meeting and met with multiple Board members.

Executive Director of Educational Services Zena Stenvik and Columbia Academy Principal Duane Berkas presented information about a pilot program at Columbia Academy that is designed to provide lunch to all students in a more efficient and effective manner. View the presentation.

Executive Director of Educational Service Zena Stenvik and Deputy Director of Teaching & Learning Tara Thukral presented information on Career and Tech Ed opportunities in CHPS. There were no governance questions with this presentation. View the presentation.
