    The School Board honored Brad Boleman for receiving the MNSHAPE’s 2018 Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year.

    Reports from Members of the Board

    Chair John Larkin participated in the Special Called School Board Meeting, Work Session, Convocation, HS Open House, Columbia Heights Business Council meeting, attended a CHHS class reunion, football game, and Board Chair meetings.

    Vice Chair Naty Severson participated the Special Called School Board Meeting, Work Session, Convocation,  Induction program, tennis game, soccer game, football game, and conversations with community members.

    Treasurer Lorien Mueller participated in CA Open House, Special Called School Board Meeting, Work Session, Convocation, 3 swim meets, varsity football game, CA football game, and many conversations with community members.

    Clerk Hala Asamarai participated in the Special Called School Board Meeting, Work Session, CHHS Open House, and conversations with community members.
    Director Molly Lewis participated in Induction program, Convocation and picnic, Special Called Board Meeting, Work Session, CA Open House and CHHS Open House, football games, tailgating before the home football games, conversations with community members, acknowledged Teacher of the Year message from Pam Meyers.

    Director Laura Palmer participated in Special Called School Board meeting, Work Session, Convocation, 916 Board meeting.

    Superintendent's Report

    Superintendent Kathy Kelly attended a Convocation, Fall AMSD meeting, North Suburban Secondary Success meeting, District’s College Board Task Force meeting, CHPS School Board meetings, meetings with the CHPS Board Chair, meetings with School Board members and reported that the administrative team is “counting whites of eyes” in terms of school enrollment and the school year got off to a strong start.

    Action Items 

    Constitution Week Resolution
    The School Board approved the resolution stating that Columbia Heights ISD 13 will celebrate the week of Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week.

    Designation of Electronic Transfer Designees
    The School Board approved Director of Finance and Operations Bernice Humnick and Deputy Director of Finance Denise Sundstrom as the designees in processing electronic transfers.
