Nov. 21, 2017 Work Session
Director of Finance and Operations Kristine Carr introduced Matt Mayer, an auditor with BerganKDV, who reported out on the findings of the fiscal year school District audit. Mr. Mayer shared the District will receive an overall Unmodified Opinion (positive audit). Superintendent Kathy Kelly, Director of Technology and Security Services Bryan Hennekens and Director Carr provided an update on the TIES organization audit, the annual meeting, discussion on the future of that organization, Districts that have submitted letters of withdrawal from TIES (including Columbia Heights Public Schools), product, financial and legal issues and next steps of how these and other-related factors may affect this District.
School Board Organizational Meeting
Superintendent Kelly shared the Organizational Meeting takes place the first Tuesday of January and that for the School Board to prepare for the meeting she provided copies of Process for Electing A School Board based on Roberts Rules of Order.
Superintendent Kelly briefed the School Board on enrollment as it relates to building capacity. This was an informational discussion with no action taken.
Superintendent Kelly told the School Board the District has received a request for data. She added the request has been sent to multiple districts throughout the state. The Superintendent reported District staff is in the process of collecting the requested data.
Superintendent Kelly and Director Carr shared a communication related to transportation.
