      Acknowledgement of Contributions


    Chair John Larkin announced, and the School Board approved, a resolution for accepting current contributions in the amount of $2,745.00. The total fiscal year 2014-2015 monetary contributions to date is $104,435.50.

    World's Best Work Force (WBWF) Update: Director of Teaching and Learning Duane Berkas and Staff Development Coordinator Zena Stenvik provided an update on the WBWF District Advisory Committee this school year and the actions that will take place for the next school year.     Elementary/Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Grants:
    The School Board approved 2015-2016 ESEA Grants. Director Berkas
    reported at the June 9, 2015 Business Meeting that all school districts receiving Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Title I, II and III funding are required to submit an annual application for these funds with a budget and narrative that describes how the applicable district plans to use this funding.  For more specifics and to review their PowerPoint presentation, click here.

    Local Education Agency (LEA) authorization: The School Board authorized incoming Interim Director of Teaching and Learning Zena Stenvik and Curriculum Coordinator Tara Thukral to act as the Local Education Agency representatives for the 2015-2016 school year. The LEA representative(s) ensure Columbia Heights Public Schools maintains compliance with the appropriate federal statues, regulations and procedures and acts as the responsible authority in all matters relating to the review and administration of the Title I, II, III plans.

    Northeast Metro 916 Health and Safety Levy Resolution:
    The School Board approved a resolution for the Northeast Metro 916 Health and Safety Levy. 
    Director of Finance and Operations Bill Holmgren provided background on the Health and Safety Budget for the 2015-2016 school year at the June 9, 2015 Business Meeting.  The figures will be included in the District's Pay 2016 Levy in December 2015.

    Additional School Board Meeting:
    The School Board approved an additional Regular School Board Meeting, 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015.
