The Communications Department works to find opportunities to promote Columbia Heights Public Schools and the success of staff and students within the District and community. The Communications Department is responsible for all strategic communications including publication of all District newsletters and marketing materials; media and community relations; marketing and advertising of District activities and opportunities; graphic design; and maintaining the District's website.
The Communications Department also helps other District departments and schools identify what information and messages should be conveyed to the District's audiences and surrounding community and ensure it is done in the most effective and appropriate way.

The Communications Department is the primary contact for all press inquiries and support. We prepare and distribute press releases and media advisories, research and respond to queries, set-up interviews and - as applicable - acts as the District's spokesperson.
