Columbia Heights Public Schools Activities and Athletics offer students the unique opportunity to develop
their talent beyond the classroom through practice, learn sportsmanship through competition and display
leadership through team. We believe extra-curriculars promote life-long student success.

After seven years in the North Suburban Conference, which is dissolving after this school year, Columbia Heights will join a new conference next year. The move is a decision that pleases our new K-12 Activities and Athletics Director.
"I'm confident our successes will increase in this new conference, that our students will discover new talents and unleash their potential," said Matt Miller. "We will be going into a conference that matches our school participation rate in sports and activities, and that is good for everyone."
The Tri-Metro Conference is a Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) sanctioned athletic conference composed of 10 public and private schools in the Twin Cities metro area. Our school district, along with Fridley, and Holy Angels will be the newest members in Tri-Metro, bringing the total number of schools in the conference to 10. All together, the Tri-Metro Conference is made up of the following schools:
• Columbia Heights
• Brooklyn Center
• Concordia Academy
• Holy Angels
• Saint Agnes
• St. Anthony Village
• St. Croix Lutheran
• Visitation School
Miller said the change, while taking place next school year, is good for Columbia Heights this year. "Our goal is to bring out talent beyond the classroom, for students to learn and practice leadership and sportsmanship through competition," he said. "We will enthuse all of our students to bring out their best, this year, next year and beyond, because to be our best, we must expect our best."
