The Heighten the Arts committee has received a five-year Comprehensive Arts Planning Program grant to create, implement, and sustain a life-altering arts education program for the Columbia Heights Public Schools community.

• The Heighten the Arts committee's efforts are co-sponsored by Columbia Heights Public Schools, the City of Columbia Heights, and the Columbia Heights Public Library.
• Studies reveal a significant positive impact of arts education on students' critical thinking and learning.
• The goal will be to establish a school district that is viewed both internally and externally as an interdisciplinary arts school district for students preschool through grade 12.
